While on the outset, it could appear a gamble – and I think for just about any other pop star, some kind of exodus would ensue. However, Gaga has a huge LGBTQ following, and I suspect a good portion of her social media will become a kind of LGBTQ friendly space (consisting mostly of these members and women). I’m not sure if there is such a site out there, but this kind of site would have the backing of a public and vocal figure.

Gaga is on her way to becoming the champion of this particular group of people. What’s probably a larger gamble in the long run is that as LGBTQ becomes more mainstream, Gaga’s role will diminish. In all, if she becomes a Zuckerberg type, and the Little Monsters social site takes on a life of its own, it may very well be the first step away from mass online social platforms, and into the more logical group social platforms (tailored to people’s interests).
